![]() ![]() I pick the most lighthearted of my worlds. Their counterparts in the Outer Systems take their own resentments a little more quietly and seriously, replacing the use of such slurs with bitter feelings made clear through things from common discourse to icy and antagonistic treatment of Geminians. The variant spellings "marskie" and "maskhie" are used online to make the insult more specific. ![]() ![]() Some more prejudiced Geminians have taken to using the word "maskie" to make fun of the Outer Systems population and their semi-habitable worlds, which demand supportive breathing masks to live on. They have gone to war more than once, and currently find themselves naturally opposed in the ongoing Lethean Corporate Conflict, a struggle which they have nonetheless managed to keep themselves out of so far, at least on the state level. The two highest cultural regions of Asphodel have a long history of conflict, and differ culturally, politically and economically in a litany of stark dichotomies. Geminians (Anders and Tycheans) do not get on so well with Outer Systems dwellers (New Martians and Khanians). There are too many divisions to easily cover here, so I'll just cover the main one - the interbinary divide. You also have miscellaneous humans (mostly Ander/Tychean mixers), biological/technological hybrids such as biochoruses, cyberchoruses and cyborgs, digitised people (including both those who use robotic bodies and those who exist purely in cyberspace) and AIs, divided up into infinitely complex groups based on architecture and history, within which can likely be found the nebulously-defined digital chorus. There are four major human subspecies, but these do not represent the sum total of intelligent beings. The exact magnitude of the difference between Fisch numbers does seem to have some effect but it's hard to predict with our current understanding General size, fur and eye color, and about equal parts of the personality. The wolf has the higher Fisch number so the child will look like a female wolf, but certain feature may be reminiscent of the male. As a rule males have low numbers, and females high numbers (but certain high male numbers beat certain low female numbers but those pairing often have problems).Ĭonsider a potential mating between a Male Human and a Female Wolf. Every gender of ever species has a Fisch number that is wholly unique and orderable on a single line, if the two parent are compatible the one with the higher Fisch Number will determine much of the baby's phenotype and over all genetic structure. Lovoro Engle Desmon Fisch, a scientist at the Wolf National Centre for Reproductive Research first noted what we will call Fisch Numbers. This mystery perplexes scientists but it's not really the point of this discussion. A feat much too unlikely to be mere chance.
